They market anything from single
trailers for the local landscaping busi-
ness owner, to multiple trailers for big
businesses and governments. They
do a lot of sales in Canada, and have
dealerships all over the region.
Not bad for a company that carries
the “Kentucky Proud” seal.
“One thing we like to get out there
is, this isn’t like purchasing a car. We
do some things that are extremely
unique,” Mosley said.
While other places bring in trailers
to sell, Gatormade does the manufac-
turing, marketing, sales and distribu-
tion all in one location.
That means they can custom-build
a specialty trailer, like one with
extra storage, explained marketing
director Tierra Diggins.
“If you’re at a job site and need
something very specific right away,
a lot of times we can get that for
you, whereas with other companies
it could be three or four months,”
she said.
Like Conder’s, Gatormade sells many
different types of trailers, including
equipment trailers, goosenecks, tilt
trailers, dump trailers, and enclosed
trailers.
They have even created a special
type of trailer that houses several
shower stalls, which Mosley said has
been used in California to help with the
homeless population.
And because the trailers are
manufactured on site, the company
prides itself on having the highest
quality materials and craftsmanship
available.
That higher quality doesn’t always
translate to higher prices, though.
Mosley said some homeowner trail-
ers are not far from the same price
as those that come from a dealer, be-
cause buying local means not having
to pay for the mark-up.
“What we really like to focus on
are three core values: Quality, safety,
value. We tend to make trailers that
are lifetime trailers,” Mosley said.
