Language Materials Illustrator Intern

Job Summary

The Language Materials Illustrator Intern will support the creation of high quality visual content for Pottawatomi language learners. This role offers hands-on experience in illustration and graphic design, using both digital tools and traditional techniques to develop print materials, online graphics, and educational resources. The intern will collaborate with the Language Coordinator and Language Technician throughout the design process from concept to final production.

Essential Responsibilities

• Create illustrations and visual concepts to support Pottawatomi language materials
• Assist with layout and design for print, educational handouts, digital media, and social platforms
• Select design elements such as color palettes, typography, and layout structure
• Collaborate with Language and Culture staff on project development
• Manage projects from initial idea through final delivery
• Produce culturally-appropriate artwork that supports language education
