Job Summary
The Marketing Intern will support the Health and Human Services( HHS) Department in developing culturally-responsive, engaging, and informative outreach materials that promote programs, services, and community health initiatives, including health promotion and disease prevention. This position will work closely with the Communications Department to ensure all messaging aligns with organizational branding, communication standards, and Tribal values.
The intern will gain hands-on experience in public health marketing, social media strategy, digital storytelling, and content creation while contributing to initiatives that improve awareness and access to services for Tribal Citizens and the community.
Essential Responsibilities
• Assist in creating social media content, graphics, flyers, and videos to promote HHS programs and events
• Support digital storytelling efforts through interviews, photos, and short-form video content
• Help maintain consistent branding across outreach materials in collaboration with the Communications Department
• Participate in planning and executing community health campaigns
• Conduct basic research to support health promotion and disease prevention messaging
• Assist with organizing and documenting events, workshops, or outreach activities
• Ensure all communications reflect cultural sensitivity and Tribal values
• Maintain confidentiality and follow departmental guidelines at all times
Essential Skill Qualifications
• Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Public Health, Graphic Design, Media Production, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic knowledge of social media platforms( e. g., Facebook, Instagram)
• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design / video tools( preferred)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional conduct
