Zoran Zaev , and the rest is determined to make an agreement with Albanian parties . They insist at all costs that the Albanian language should be an official language in all the institutions of Macedonia and the Albanians demand simultaneously with equal layout of the budget . On this they aim to further advance their position as a statehood population . Such a balance between the two countries is the request of EU and America . They both are deeply involved in the process to issue Macedonia from this crisis and thus precluded escalation of the situation in the ethnic conflict even though had great effort from former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski , which even now seems to have a tendency to call on Macedonian unity against ethnic Albanians . It should be noted that Macedonia is a country which has ignored the recommendation of the EU to impose sanctions on Russia . Russia feels its influence in Macedonia through the policies pursued so far from the Macedonian government . The whole situation becomes difficult when officials from the ruling VMRO-DPMNE , the winning party in the last elections directly accused the West of interfiring in the internal affairs of Macedonia and influencing the political process . This comunication also encourages further Russian influence in the Balkan , since a part of the Macedonian leadership is seen as a '' weapon '' in his hand to threaten the West .
II . Neo-Ottomanism
Balkan has historically been a region with specific geopolitical rivalry . Undoubtedly one of the
geo-strategic rivals is now returining and that is Turkey .
Turkey in recent years has focused convincingly in the Balkan . Its presence is in almost every field , especially in the field of education in which granted the major investments , this way turning itself into a no-competiotion destination of education for an entire generation of young people . The scholarships for young people who want to study in Turkey are very favorable in this way becoming very keen on by them . Also Turkey has built an extensive network of schools , some of them are not desired by the current government of Turkey . Turkey has invested direct help into the Balkan countries in the construction of educational facilities and university . Culture , including religion is one of the other areas where there are large investments . It should be noted that Turkish Language is one of the languages taught significantly from young Balkan . On the other hand , Turkey is one of the leading actor in the trade with the Balkan countries . Adding here its past historical influence , a former Empire and now a country with the fastest increase , Turkey is a main key player in the Balkan .
