The verodeep 8 is an eight-strand full steel rope , featuring an extruded plastic layer between the outer strands and the rope core . Compared to conventional winder rope construction , the verodeep 8 offers significant performance and safety benefits . The eight compacted outer strands provide a larger tread contact area in the sheave wheels and in the cross-over section on the multi-layer drum , decreasing localised pressure and significantly increasing wear resistance .
The full-steel rope construction , combined with the plastic layer , ensures a stable rope structure for improved spooling behaviour in high-speed applications , as well as in hoists demanding high lateral pressure and multi-layer hoists . Additionally , issues like corkscrew deformation or sunken strands , especially in deep winding operations , are significantly reduced .
Besides supporting structural stability , the plastic layer also retains lubricant within the rope and prevents the infiltration of water , dust , or other particles , which can impact the rope ’ s lifetime or cause internal corrosion and wear . The plastic layer prevents steel-to-steel contact between the wires , avoiding internal wire breaks . The verodeep 8 also includes plastic between the outer strands to protect the rope from valley breaks .
With its eight-strand construction , the core size of the verodeep 8 is larger compared to conventional winder rope construction . A larger core improves the balance within the rope , enhancing safety , lifetime , and rotational behaviour . The greater number of single wires in the verodeep 8 allows for more wire breaks before reaching the discard criteria of the rope . Batch of new orders for SIEMAG TECBERG
German hoist system major SIEMAG TECBERG based in Haiger has announced the successful signing of contracts for four major mining projects already in 2024 , with a value totalling over US $ 25 million . For the Aurora gold mine in Guyana it is partnering with China ’ s Zijin Mining to provide a complete hoisting system . This is one of Guyana ’ s largest gold projects , and the company said its hoist will help enhance safety and efficiency . In Turkey for the Balya lead-zinc mine SIEMAG TECBERG is teaming up with ESAN , a leading Turkish industrial materials and mineral manufacturer and supplier to deliver a new hoisting system . Moving to China , for the Laohudong phosphate mine it is working with customer Weng ’ an Tianyi Mining to contribute to the development of this state-owned enterprise in Guizhou . And at Chezhai coal mine it is partnering with Shanxi Jincheng Xingtang Coal Industry . Its hoisting systems will play a key role in the construction of this newly approved mine in Shanxi Province .
