Anniversary celebrations
Just in time for its 60th anniversary , Becker Mining Systems will be showcasing several of its new developments at MINExpo .
The Germany-based company develops solutions in the fields of energy , automation , communication , transportation and infrastructure technology for the mining industry .
A special highlight at the Becker Mining Systems stand will be the Duratrans Transformer , which is completely submerged under water in an aquarium tank . This demonstration shows the outstanding robustness and impermeability of the transformer under extreme conditions , Becker says . “ Compared to other manufacturers who use outdated winding technology , Becker Mining Systems uses a new , more advanced system that ensures a much more robust design and excellent sealing , so that the Duratrans Transformer works reliably and safely even under such unusual conditions ,” it explained .
In addition to the company anniversary , Becker Mining Systems is also celebrating another birthday this year : namely the official market launch of the new Belt Rip Management System BRS4.0 , the successor to the BRS2 , for conveyor belt rip scanning . Among other things , the BRS4.0 system ’ s user interface has been completely redesigned to make operation even more intuitive and user friendly , Becker says . Furthermore , remote connection can now be established via tablet or smartphone .

Safe lifting , lowering and holding
Shovel , mining machinery and vehicle maintenance are the themes of the Enerpac booth at MINExpo 2024 .

The Enerpac stand will feature the SCJ-Series cube jack , hydraulic cylinders and controlled lifting pumps that are playing an increasing role in enabling efficient and safe shovel maintenance . On average , mining shovels need to be overhauled every two years due to wear on the tracks and bearings . Repair and maintenance involves either jacking the undercarriage or separating the shovel cab from the undercarriage , with stability being crucial . Enerpac jacking technology is a proven approach for safe lifting , according to the company . It offers three methods : cylinder jacking , cube jacks and jack-up systems . In all cases , synchronous lifting is used to preserve shovel stability and maintenance crew safety .

the Cube Jacks and hydraulic cylinders , where uneven loads need to be positioned equally . The SFP-Series pump can also be used to operate the jacking and sliding system .
For moving heavy loads short distances during equipment installation and maintenance , Enerpac will be showing the LH400 , 400-t capacity Low Height Skidding System – a modular system that can slide heavy loads over a pre-constructed track . The Low-Height Skidding System comprises a series of skid beams moved by hydraulic push-pull units .
For truck maintenance , the Enerpac Pow ’ R- LOCK is the gold standard for safe lifting , lowering and holding , according to the company . It is a self-locking jack with a lifting capacity up to 200 t . For safe mechanical cribbing of a lifted load , accessory Locking U-Rings can be placed around an extended piston .
The Enerpac booth will also feature the latest in portable , battery-powered pumps including the new SC-Series Cordless Battery Pump . Compact , fast , precise and with an extended battery runtime , the lightweight SC-Series cordless battery pump allows operators to undertake larger jobs in difficult to access and remote workspaces .
