wood suddenly . You know you must still order yet cannot wait to check out the movie titles and images to see iF you recognize any or which you would like to see in the future . I get excited upon seeing one title which resembles one of our partners of DaBang ! The menu is easy to read and immediately the friend I brought knew what we should explore as a signature-type dish related to the name of the restaurant , Papdi Chat , having a variety of chat kinds : Samosa Chole , Sev Puri , Dahi Vada ~ a chat sampler .
We went with a Tikki Cholle dish also . They were helpful in ordering and in assisting when we had questions . I like the hospitality of an endless amount of water to drink ( since that is usually what I go for when dining so as to concentrate on focusing for the food on my palate most ) and a soup you may serve yourself with a ladle while you wait . The chat had different textures to each one , some were sweeter and others were more complex and spicy . I had a few favorites yet we both seemed to like them all as this is the tasteful street food of India ( so I imagine we couldn ’ t go wrong ultimately ). The most surprising part of the visit was that I believe I enjoyed the Sabhar — a dish opulent in South India in a very diluted form — the most ! It is no surprise iF you ’ ve always known me since vegetable soup is a favorite and this closely resembles it yet with a bit of lentils and Tamarind broth - it was so fresh and felt so healthy ! As we ate and looked around us for movie titles we may want to research later and see , I noticed a beautiful silver container sitting on a table to the right near the front door I hadn ’ t coming in . There was a person there
attending to it now may be why and the silver platters were covered so being the curious one I asked what was under all of that stylish presentation to discover it was Golgappa ! What a special experience to be made available to us . The room was filled with families and couples of all ages that were engrossed in their conversations or placing the many types of sauces on their plates . I then appreciated the display of presentation Chowpatty provides and may have even felt close to the stars while there . You might even feel that you are at a movie theatre preparing to see the main matinee as you get led up to the show with appetizers of Sabhar cups then to be enchanted with the final performance of each chat bite like I felt . This matinee will surely not disappoint ! Now I am determined to see what their Katy location entails as I hear it is all vegan / vegetarian … perhaps I ’ ll bring one of my mentors who is vegan that led our city to a sports championship . After all , he certainly gets credit in teaching me to be goal oriented and about strategy . Do you have someone special or someone to give back to this sports season that has never experienced India ’ s street food for themselves ? Maybe they will never make it to India yet they can have the taste of it right here in the cultural part of Houston I ’ ve come to adore … and you will too !
Fun Chef Fact : The chef & owner worked at the Taj Rambagh Palace to gain the experience as well as insight of these tasty street foods . Chef Nirman states that he sees everyone has stress so he wanted to create a concept where one goes to a different era in classic Indian Hollywood memories . Chowpatty Chat Co . has
also been catering big events like Diwali of 10,000 so reach out for the next one you host !
