Chowpatty
Imagine iF you will , a five star dining chef with a seven star hotel management experience running a few restaurants here in Houston that have an authentic street food experience of India … that is what you get when you visit a Chowpatty Chat Co . restaurant . I decided to go by Chowpatty ( and no , not the beach in Mumbai ) in the Hillcroft area after a Hindustani / Carnatic of the HUM Ensemble concert in Sugar Land and had an excellent experience . I had asked a few of my Indian friends which places they would feature iF they were me to drop in for a review and Chowpatty sounded intriguing as to not a fine dining establishment nor a run of the mill choice neither . Rather , it had just the right balance of eloquence and convenience , almost like a mix of Gujarati & Bombay style state of India . As I walked up to the place from out of my car , a gentleman walks out of the Silk India store that was right next to where I was going and said he knows me so we chat a bit about some community affairs and I get back to my mission on this place that has been on my mind for some time . You immediately feel the energy of a popular place amongst the locals . The walls embrace you as iF you are being featured in the cinematic atmosphere of classic Bolly-
