Nebamun Hunting Fowl:
from Ekphrasis Ancient Art Volume I
by T. Jenese Thompson
this day and then
Art settles a fanciful
belief of an elite existence, to pose
about the forest as conductor
neck-dressed
sarong and baton orchestrate the ordeal
of the hunt holiday
superior to the feline snatch, atop
said scenery to claim
a prized fowl
meanwhile the audience
and the fans
and the fins of the fish below
are still
center-staged
well-scripted
