Vietnam’s National Day
Marked in Houston

On the occasion of the 74th Na-
tional Day of the Socialist Repub-
lic of Vietnam (Sep.2, 1945 – Sep.2,
2019), on August 28, 2019, Vietnam-
ese Consul General Luong Quoc
Huy hosted a reception for guests
from the diplomatic corps, Texas
congressmen, leaders of the City of
Houston, Vietnamese – American
businessmen, representatives of the
Vietnamese community and students
in Houston. Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh,
Secretary of the Party Central Com-
mittee, Chief Justice of the Supreme
People’s Court of Vietnam, on his
working visit to the State of Texas,
attended and spoke at the Celebra-
tion.
Expressing his gratitude on being
able to attend the Ceremony of the
National Day in the beautiful city of
Houston, Chief Justice Nguyen Hoa
Binh affirmed that with the high
growth rate of the economy over a
long period, with its GDP in 2018
reaching nearly 250 billion USD,
Vietnam has continued to promote
economic innovation, along with
actively taking part in regional and
international integration. With such
economic achievements, Vietnam’s
living standards have been rapidly
improved sustainably. Vietnam’s po-
sition on the international stage has
