continued to grow, demonstrated
vividly through the fact that nearly
100% of the United Nations’ mem-
ber states voted for Vietnam to be-
come a non-permanent member of
the United Nations’ Security Coun-
cil 2020 – 2021, along with Viet-
nam’s Chairmanship of ASEAN in
the coming year,2020.
As for Vietnamese – U.S. relations,
the two sides have continued to
exchange high level visits, deepen-
ing and addressing mutual concerns.
Specifically, in the trading sector, in
2018, bilateral trade turnover reached
60 billion USD; U.S. investment in
Vietnam continued to hold at 11 bil-
lion USD… Speaking with the Viet-
namese community in Texas, Chief
Justice Nguyen Hoa Binh highly
anticipated the Vietnamese people’s
contribution to the improvement of
living standards in the U.S., particu-
larly from Vietnamese – American
businessmen. He affirmed that the
Party, the Government of Vietnam,
would always care about the Viet-
namese communities living abroad,
including the Vietnamese commu-
nity in the U.S., and will always be
ready to create favorable conditions
for them to revisit their homeland,
thus contributing practically and ef-
fectively to the development of the
country.
