The latest data released by the
motorcycle trade association in
Austria (Arge2Rad) shows
registrations of new
motorcycles up by +33.59% for
the period to end of March
2019 with 3,496 new models
registered - the best first
quarter in Austria since 2014
(3,515 units) and second best

especially in May, "this selling season
has actually gone quite well so far, and
better than 2018 by around 10% in
motorcycle terms".
The Swedish moped market is only
slightly down YTD at -2.74% (5,284
units), meaning that total new PTW
registrations are up, but only by
+3.84% YTD on 11,395 units.
In 2018 new motorcycle registrations
were down for the full year at -10.83%
(10,279 units), with Mopeds up by
+22.71% (16,155 units), putting total
new PTW registrations at +7.06%
(26,444 units) for the year – the
highest such figure for several years.

The latest data available from the
motorcycle industry trade association
in Sweden (McRF) shows new
motorcycle registrations up by
10.29% for the five months to May
2019 at 6,111 units.
However, though on statistically low
monthly units, the trend in the Swedish
market may be softening with
motorcycle registrations at -2.65%
(1,981 units) in May, having been
+55.69% in March (1,244 units) and
+4.40% in April (2,181 units).

thinks that given the poor weather this
