World peace

Dr. Montessori design her method to achieve the world peace. She believe that the first step to achieve it was to educate the future citizens. That is why the conflict solving is an important topic in this school. Teachers encourage children to solve their conflicts with respect.

Heterogeneous group

In this school, they do not use mainstream groups. Here they use heterogeneous groups in which there are pupils from three different ages. For example, in the first group, there are pupils that are 3, 4, 5 and 6 years old. This kind of groups allows children to experience different roles in the classroom. For example, when they are the youngest in the class, they might need someone else to guide them, but after 4 years, they are capable of being the guide because they have been experiencing it for 4 years.

Even if the group has pupils from different years, it does not mean that all of them are doing the exact same thing at the same time. Each child is challenge based on his/her capacities.

The classroom

In each classroom, children can use many different materials when they want, if they feel that it is going to be useful. There is a great variety of materials for each subject. Even if the tables are in a group shape, students have the freedom to move around the classroom and the school. It makes the school much livelier.

As I said, children can choose the space where they want to work, that is why all the areas of the school are designed so students can work in groups or by themselves. Schools are usually pretty big, but most of them just use the classroom areas, forgetting that the hallway or outside can also be a great place to work.
