beginning of the school cycle); the teacher will also document the process, as the videographers should also appear in the videos;- the videos are uploaded on the school’ s online storage space and presented in other classes, shared with the other teachers, on the whatsapp group of the class involved( for the parents to see).
The second part of the activity / project involves recreating the presentations( just the informational content, questions etc) during the English classes. For this students will have to search for specific vocabulary they might need. They can also opt to change the way they present since it would be in English and not Romanian. The last part of the activity includes students writing from the perspective of that historical character( both in Romanian and English). Alternatively, the can bring that character into modern days and write about their challenges / how they would adapt or not. The result can be a short song, a poem, a short story, or even a short play( students can get help from their colleagues who can co-star- the script would be written in collaboration). All these materials will be presented in class, posted online on Digipad, Delightex and on the school’ s storage space. Thus, at the end of this activity / project, we would have a database of usable teaching materials, created by students, while the teachers were only guides.
Evaluation, inter-evaluation( ideas I found intriguing / interesting and why, what I appreciated in the work my colleagues have done, what suggestions I have) and self-evaluation( what have I learnt that I didn’ t know?, What were my challenges?, What did I learn about myself?)
Observations: if done in French as well( in our school students start learning French when they are in 5 th grade), limit the presentations to a trading card using bighugelabs, where students add a photo of the personality and 2 short sentences. They can also create posters( either in paper format or online on Genially / Canva). The questions the students receive will be according to the level of French for that particular year / class level
If the activity is done with younger students, they can work together with their parents in researching the information, preparing the costumes; as far as English is concerned, the presentations and questions will be kept to a very simple level( just like with French).
If turned into an etwinning project, the presentations, work so on will be done in international teams.
