What is interactive media?
Interactive media is a form of communication that is used throughout the worlds media which involves the program outputting information and actions depending on
what the user inputs and how they interact with the media. Because of this unique
form of communication between the media product and the user, it communicates in
a very one off kind of way that you don't see with other media. Video games are a
major example of interactive media as they require the user to input information into
the controller or other peripheral in order to control what happens on the game,
making it extremely interactive.
What does it take to create interactive media?
Obviously the first thing you need to consider here is
the fact that you will need a keen imagination in order
to come up with the most imaginative ways for the user
to interact with your product and get the most information and input out of it because of this. The authoring tools that are most effective to be used when creating media of this type would be programs such as illustrator, this allows you to creating visually striking
documents such as info graphics that can then be
moved on to be made into interactive media through
various ways. Also when you are planning to make an
interactive application of graphic it is important to plan
and design it carefully beforehand to make sire that it
will go in the right direction once it is developed and
produced. Good planning could include aspects such as
storyboards to interpret how the user will move
through the piece of media and also plans to explain
how it will come to be made.
