What is Authoring?
Authoring is the tools or software that is used to help create or write the content for the
application that interact with the user and allow some type for control. They are used to
finish and group everything together, such as a paragraph of text, an object or a video. For
example, a game requires a controller and that lets you interact with the game, and allowing
you to change what is happening. This is what is making it interactive.
Assets
Assets are the types of information and objects on that page, such as sound, text, video and
images. Each is different but can all be used on the same page and has a similar role. The
sound is what you hear through speakers or headphones; these are used if the user wanted
to listen to music. The text is what you read, if the reader wanted to find information he
would know what to look for. Videos are a series of images put together and played at the
same time, it can be accompanied by sound or it can be independent.
Format
The format used in authorizing depends on how information to the audience.
The formats vary depending on the type of the media. A web page would be displayed
completely different to a hand held device. The web page is more complex and can include a
lot more buttons or links on a page than a hand held device, which is smaller and less visible
the more that is added. A Interactive TV has the ability has the ability to show you a little
more about what you are watching. On sky sports, when football is on you can press the red
button and view a different game. TiVo boxes allow you to interact a lot more than
traditional televisions. You have the option to view applications such as Netflix and YouTube
directly onto your TV.
