MOBILE SCHOOL Type Description Weblinks Annexes (e.g. worksheets, presentations) Name Email Method This program is providing support to children urged by family or third parties to work or beg in the streets. PRAKSIS provides psychosocial medical pedagogical and recreational services to rehabilitate children and their families. Experienced social workers outreach through street working for the children to attract them to our Children Day Centre where they can participate in entertaining and educational activities, while experiencing a reality different from the one they face in the street. PRAKSIS strives to successfully accomplish the registration of children at school and the monitoring of their progress. The Mobile school is a big box on wheels transported and placed in several neighborhoods in which excluded children work or beg (homeless children, ROMA children in camps, unaccompanied children, children victims of trafficking). The box then opens up and consists of several thematic panels. Thus opportunity to visit the Mobile School is given to these vulnerable children providing them access to a series of educational material ranging in the following themes: Basic math and language education (basic literacy skills, mathematical games, etc), Health and Hygiene education, Education through play (therapeutically effects of educational games). For the Mobile school, play and fun is an important goal. The game helps children to relax, express themselves and it can have a therapeutic effect. The major focus of the program is to psychosocially support these children, reinforce their self esteem, take them off the streets, and prepare them for school integration. Another target is the sensitization and awareness of the broader public about the phenomenon of child labor. www.praksis.gr Read the last biannual report of our actions (page 35-39) http://cdn.praksis.gr.s3.amazonaws.com/reports/biannual-en/index.html#3/z Karagiannis Valantis – Kontogiannakis Giannis [email protected] [email protected] HOUSE OF ONE Type Description Workshops and crowd founding project Young people up to 30 years old are gathering once per months together to visit different places where people of certain religions celebrate their holy “mess” or ceremony…..Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist…..all people are welcome to learn something new about each other's religion.
