Sensitization and enhancement of the positive attitude of local socities on issues related to the integration of third country’s nationals, fight against xenophobia and the negative stereotypes towards this specific target group. 6) TEACHING GREEK LANGUAGE AND HISTORY TO ILLITERATE MIGRANTS PROGRAMMES The programme was implemented from 21/02/2012 until 30/06/2012. The Goal of the Program was the implantation of supporting actions to the integration of migrants in the Greek society, labor market in order to develop the feeling of “belonging” as well as to get familiar with the Greek language and history, develop communication skills so to manage daily communication needs and to promote their participation in active employment policies. Eligible to attend the programme were adult illiterate migrants. Specifically the participants attended the following learning units: • Greek Language • History The programs were implemented in Piraeus Thessaloniki, Trikala, Patra, Iraklion-Creta and their total duration was 100 hours for both learning units. 7) «INTERCULTURAL TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR CIVIL SERVANTS WORKING AT THE UNITED DECENTRALIZED ADMINISTRATION UNITS DEALING WITH THIRD COUNTRY NATIONALS LEGALLY RESIDING IN GREECE». The goal of the program was EAMD civil servants attending the seminar to improve communication with citizens of third Countries, through the acquisition of skills that facilitate their professional and social work. Through the seminar they had the opportunity to enrich their knowledge and acquire skills that facilitated the understanding and acceptance of the right of migrant’s diversity and combating stereotyped behaviors.
