Holly Hartsfield, 3rd Grade

Bowie Elementary

Students were given a research project to explore landforms and learn from each other. Each group was given a different landform to become experts on.

Using chromebooks, students learned how to use the Explore feature and research information over a landform. As they collaborated with their partner, they designed a Google slide to showcase all of their information. Not only did they include the information they gathered, but they had to add a theme, insert images, and cite sources.

As an end result, students will be uploading their Google slides onto a google map to allow for exploration of landforms throughout the world. Students will be able to learn about other types of landforms by traveling the world learning from their peers.

Here's what the 3rd grade students had to say about their project:

"I like how we got to research for ourselves and not just read it out of a book. I also enjoyed working as a team."

"It was fun learning this way on chromebooks."

"It's cool how we will be able to see everyone's information that they found!"
