Students created their own rendition of a Monopoly Board Game by creating different properties and other components of the game using Canva. Students utilized digital design skills and their creativity to create their layouts. The best part of the assignment is seeing how they can incorporate their personalities into the game pieces through their interest. With these skills, students are developing critical thinking in a career in game design and illustration.

Students used Canva to design academic posters. They were told to pretend that they worked for a company that designed academic posters for teachers to purchase and use in their classroom. Students were given the task of designing a poster with information about a branch of government or checks and balances. They were told that other students would be voting on the posters to determine which poster would get the most student attention in a classroom and could be used as an academic resource. Knowing that other students would be looking at the work and wanting their poster to be chosen, students seemed very invested in putting out the best work. The overall best posters would be blown up into real posters and used in class.
