Since 2012, the Community Policing Project has focused on supporting police stations to adopt community policing approaches. Through capacity building trainings and awareness building on themes of crime reduction, child and women abuse complaints, traffic issues and anti-social activities, the project ultimately aims to improve the local safety and security situation. In 2016, a knowledge exchange forum called the“ Learning and Sharing Forum” was hosted to bring together community members in learning more about community policing. In total, 57 programs were facilitated year-round by the police stations. The day’ s festivities included cultural performances, remarks by program partner organizations and stories from the field were shared.
