Nokia has recently launched a new smartphone. The Nokia Lumia 1020. The Lumia phones by Nokia are known for their design and the fact that they use the Windows operating system. All of Nokia’s Lumia phones are designed out of one piece of plastic, of aluminum. This makes it a very well-designed phone that has a good feeling when you hold it. The phone that we are talking about today is the Nokia Lumia 1020. This phone has the best camera that has ever been on a phone before. It has a stunning 41 megapixel camera, which results in the ability of taking great photos. The advantage of this is that you have this opportunity every time you take your phone, you don’t have to take a camera with you anymore. It actually takes two pictures at once. It takes one high resolution picture, and one 5 megapixel picture. The lower resolution picture is for quick viewing purposes. If you want to send the picture to someone it also sends the lower resolution picture. The high resolution pictures are the best if you upload them to your computer, because the screen of a mobile phone is too small to view these kinds of pictures. Another advantage this camera has is that you can zoom in a lot after you have taken the picture. Even though you zoom in, in the resolution stays good. One of the other things that this phone has to offer is the flash function. Normal smartphones have an LED flash if you want to take pictures in the dark, whereas this phone has an actual xenon-flash. This means that it has the same flash which you would find on a regular camera, one that flashes only a fraction before the picture is taken. The camera lens however, does take up a lot of space on the back of the phone, and that makes it impossible to lay the phone flat on the table. This can get really annoying when you want to put your phone on the table if you want to type something or if you want to play a game. The software of the phone isn’t that impressive on itself, but because it is running Windows Mobile it does not really affect the overall speed of the phone. The Windows mobile operating system is faster on these phones because it doesn’t take up a lot of space on the phone and it also doesn’t need a lot of processing power to run. When everything is taken into account, this phone is pretty good. The specs aren’t great, but if you are looking for a good camera in a phone, this is the phone to go with. If it wouldn’t have the camera I wouldn’t advise this phone, especially because it will cost you about 520 euros, but the camera changes a lot. If you are interested in, photography this is the best option for you.
