It’s not even summer yet, but two, big festivals have already passed such as South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas and Coachella in Indio, California. But luckily, all over the world many more festivals are to come and we will highlight nine of those festivals.

United States of America

One of the first festivals of the summer is Bonnaroo. The festival starts on June 12th and lasts until the 15th and is located in Manchester, Tennessee. About 80,000 tickets will be sold and there are over 10 stages on the terrain. Some of the headliners this year are Elton John, Kanye West, Skrillex, Vampire Weekend, Lionel Richie and Wiz Khalifa. Besides music there is also a cinema were movies will be shown, such as the original Friday the 13th and Revenge of the Nerds.

Another festival starting in June is Warped Tour. This is a festival that tours through North-America. It starts on June 12th and ends on August 3rd and it has forty stops throughout America and two stops in Canada. Music played on the festival is mostly punk rock, pop punk, alternative rock, hardcore punk and such. Besides music it also has extreme sports shows. Some of the bigger names performing throughout the festival are Four Year Strong, Bowling For Soup, Yellowcard and Enter Shikari.

The last festival worth checking out is Lollapalooza. The festival lasts from August 1st until the 3rd and is located in Chicago, Illinois. They call themselves a cultural experience rather than just a festival. In what they call Chow Town they have over 30 food vendors and if that isn’t enough, they also have the farmer’s market where you can also get food, though they have food there especially made for people with dietary considerations. Of course, they also have some great headlining artists. The music is very varied and there something for everyone such as Eminem, Skrillex, Outkast, Kings of Leon, Lorde, Calvin Harris and Arctic Monkeys.
