Events INSIGHT From 10:15am to 1:15pm, staff members from the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta Ga. will present a Puppet Factory for children in Anniston Museum’s Auditorium. Children ages 5 to 12 years old are eligible to participate in the Puppet Factory. Trained staffers will guide and assist children as they create a “natural history” themed puppet of their very own. This is a free activity for ages 5-12. Supplies may be limited, and participation is first-come, first-served, so please plan your day around this activity if you would like your child to create a makeand-take puppet. The Center for Puppetry Arts Puppet Factory activity is funded by a Young Child Priority Grant from Kiwanis Club of Anniston. community events Throughout the day, between 1 and 4pm, take the opportunity to visit Anniston Museum’s seven permanent Exhibit Halls where Museum volunteers will be manning several hands-on learning stations. Find out some of nature’s secrets as you learn about plants and animals, and their habitats. You’ll also have the opportunity to see some live animal up close! The Discovery Stations will be open 1-4pm at different locations within the main Exhibit Halls. Be sure to visit the Museum Store (open 10am-4:45pm) to find great souvenirs, educational books and environmentally friendly activity packs for children. Make a day of it with your family by visiting both our great Museums on Museum Day. (Activities at Berman Museum will be available online atwww.bermanmuseum.org). Bring a picnic lunch or buy one on site from our friends at Smoke-N-Hot BBQ, who will be parked on Anniston Museum’s front lawn. Museum Day is our way of saying “thank you” to our community and visitors for all your great support all year long! We hope to see you there. 10 – Poetry After Dark at The Peerless Grill 8pm Artistic Movement is back with a new breed of talented Artists. Sept 10th will be a night to unwind, shout, clap, snap, sing, and play whatever instruments you can bring. We truly thank everyone for spreading the word because Poetry After Dark is a place where you can meet some new friends and experience creative at its best.
