T
he Time Jumpers couldn’t have
picked a better name for their
band.
The western swing band
has entertained audiences in Nashville for
nearly two decades
with their high-spirited
southern approach to big
band music. The 10-piece
band features some of
Nashville’s greatest session musicians and music stars, including past
and present members
like Vince Gill, Dawn and
Kenny Sears and “Ranger Doug” Green
(of the legendary county band Riders in
the Sky).

The band released their new album,
“Kid Sister,” on Sept. 9 and they’re hitting the road for a 12-show tour that
wraps up at Oxford’s Performing Arts
Center on Oct. 12.
We spoke to bandleader Kenny Sears
about the new album, the unique membership of the band and how to build a
fiddle from scratch, starting with a log:
