R. The Faculty: Taking a cue from “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” this flick dares to ask what happens when a rag-tag group of teenagers are tasked with saving the world from an alien takeover. Not rated. 16 Tucker and Dale vs. Evil: This horror comedy pairs a couple of redneck buddies against a group of vacationing college students who think they’re being hunted by the rednecks in typical horror movie style, leading to ridiculously bloody misunderstandings and tons of laughs. R. R. Devil’s Pass: A group of documentary filmmakers travel into Russia’s Dyatlov Pass, where several members of an expedition inexplicably died in the freezing night. Once they arrive, bizarre incidents build until the story goes far beyond a simple found-footage flick about creepy noises. R. Jug Face: Taking a page from “The Children of the Corn,” the film centers on a community protected and blessed by a mysterious force in exchange for ritual sacrifices. When pregnant teen Ada discovers that she’s next in line, she hides the evidence that she’s been chosen and things spin out of control. R. October 2014 INSIGHT
