“One of Us,” the tune that asked what faith
might be like if God were a regular person. In
the years since she’s converted from alt-rock
to blues and Motown, having performed with
veteran soul men The Funk Brothers and appeared in the documentary “Standing in the
Shadows of Motown.” She’s coming to the Oxford Performing Arts Center this month with
co-headliner Mavis Staples, who performed
major Motown hits like “I’ll Take You There”
and “Respect Yourself” with her family in the
Staple Singers. The two will be performing
both individually and as a pair throughout
the night.
CAST AUDITIONS
The Solid Soul tour will be stopping at the
Oxford Performing Arts Center Nov. 19 at 7
PM. Tickets are $20-$40 depending on seating and are available for purchase at www.
