day sing the songs himself.
Grooves and melodies and
lyrics started forming in
his head. He put together
a half-dozen Christian

play any instruments, and
didn’t know how to write
music, so translating his

impossible. Eventually he started trying to
sing the songs himself to show the singer
what he wanted, and — gradually, almost
accidentally — came back to singing for
himself.
“It was painful. My throat hurt to sing, but
I did another one the next night, and each
time got a little better, until I’d finished
an album,” said Causey. “I told the doctor
what I was doing and he said, ‘You gotta be
kidding, man.’”
The resulting album, “Well Done My
Son,” is a jazzy, bluesy affair, loaded with
Christian theme
