ring I did 576 shows in 24
months. So yeah, if the right
role came along with the right
record, there’s no question I’d
get back into it.

I: You’re going to be at the Rajun' Cajun festival to support
local firefighters — are there
any other causes that you like
to highlight?
are you looking forward to getting to roam
again?
T: I think from a very early age roaming was in
my blood and it still is, and I think that’s why
I’m going to roam on down to the Rajun Cajun
Festival and play some music!
I: You’re working on a country album — what
led you to change genres and head out on a
different track?
T: I’ve been singing Kenny Rogers since I could
walk. When you play music in Alabama I think
there are a lot of different genres you listen to.
I have been around country music all my life,
just like everyone else has, and that’s been
an influence of mine from the get-go. It’s just
soulful country!
I: Do you have any interest in going back to
performing in musicals? Is there an ideal role
that you'd come back for?
T: You never know. Roles pop up on Broadway
all the time. You have to really be prepared to
work extremely hard when you throw your
hat in that ring. When I threw my hat in that
INSIGHT
T: There is the Infinite Hero
Foundation and some Wounded Warrior projects, and obviously the Red Cross has been a part of some
of the charitable work I do, and I am thrilled to
be able to play a show and raise some money
for responders there.
I: Your fans have been dubbed the “Soul Patrol.” Where exactly did that term originate?
T: I think it just happened when I was on
American Idol. All the fans kinda took it and
ran with it. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
I: Most important question for last: what led
you to enter the Smash Bros. tournament at
Evo 2013, and what character did you play?
Are you a gamer in your spare time?
T: You know that is a mystery that a lot of people ask me, and I think it s going to stay a mystery, but I do enjoy Smash Brothers. There’s no
question about that.
I: So you’re not divulging your handle, huh?
T: No I’m not going to divulge my name. You
know a lot of people ask me that, but there
are some things I have to keep private in this
world and that might be one them. ✽
