Oxford’s annual Freedom Festival returns to
Oxford Lake, 401 McCullars Lane on July 4.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The all-day event includes free favorites such
as the parade, pet show, carnival games, and
of course an amazing fireworks show. 8:00 am Around the lake ramble FOR SENIOR ADULTS
The festival will kick off at 8:00 am for the
“Around the Lake Ramble” for senior adults,
followed by the parade at 9:00 am. Children
are invited to dress in patriotic clothing and
may walk or ride non-motorized vehicles in
the parade down McCullars Lane. Kids, don’t
forget your helmets!
The petting zoo and tricycle/bicycle races
begin at 9:30 am before the pet show at 9:40
am. Free carnival games will open at 9:45 am
inside the Civic Center. (Games end at 11:30)
Swim races start at 1:00 pm at Oxford Lake
Swimming Pool. Admission is $2 per person.
The main event, the firework show, is set to
blast off at 9:00 pm over Oxford Lake.
Please leave your own fireworks at home
this year. The only fireworks allowed at the
freedom festival will be provided by the city
and shot by professionals. In addition, no
drone permits will be issued for Oxford Lake
on the day of the festival, July 4. ✽
