CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

Anniston Police Department will
be hosting their 3rd annual Charity
Golf Tournament. This event is held at Cane
Creek Golf Course and benefits the APD
Special Response Team and The First Tee.
Anniston Police Department teamed up with
Anniston Parks and Recreation Department
to create The First Tee; this tournament is the
sole funding for the program.
The First Tee program is offered to any
student that wants to participate at

Randolph Park Elementary School and
10th Street Elementary School in Anniston.
Corporal Derrick Kirby with Anniston
Police Department tells us that students
must maintain a minimum C average
grade, as well as meet good behavioral
standards. Kirby also remarks that when
attending the Randolph Park graduation
ceremonies, he was proud to see that all the
kids participating in The First Tee program
graduated on the A-B Honor Roll. While
this program teaches these kids about golf,
its primary purpose is to make a positive
