In this session senior representatives from the environmental agencies in NSW, SA, VIC and QLD will openly discuss their respective agendas, giving the audience a unique opportunity to ask questions and compare and contrast the four approaches.

Challenges and Opportunities in Council Amalgamations

On the 12th of May the NSW government announced 19 new councils in NSW. This process will pose both opportunities and challenges for waste staff responsible for an essential and expensive service which is often the primary interface between residents and their council.
The presentations and subsequent discussion will offer helpful advice and direction on how best to navigate the practical issues associated with merging different services, domestic waste management charges, contract terms and more.

Through the use of case studies undertaken with the City of Sydney and BBP members, find out how leading institutional owners are implementing the guidelines, improving stripout waste management practices and setting resource recovery targets of 60 % and beyond for future stripout works.
