EXHIBITION: WORLD ART IN CINEMA: BOTTICELLI: INFERNO // 7 MAR
Really get behind the scenes with this fascinating art documentary focusing on an undisputed master of the Renaissance – Sandro Botticelli. Filmed in stunning historic locations such as the Uffizi Gallery and the Vatican, Botticelli: Inferno explores the mysteries behind the artist’ s 102 meticulous drawings of Dante’ s Divine Commedia including the intriguing‘ Map of Hell’ centrepiece, as featured in Ron Howard’ s Inferno, starring Tom Hanks.

Written and starring Paul Harris, Titter Ye Not tells of the life both on and off stage of Frankie Howerd, a troubled but amazingly talented man who wowed audiences for almost fifty years. In the 1940s, he was the biggest comedy star in the country only to lose everything including his health before coming back to prominence and finding a new young audience in the 1980s. From earning £ 1,000 a week he suddenly found that he had no work and only £ 10 a week to live on. Battling his nerves and depression he eventually fought his way back to stardom on television and in London’ s West End before his death in 1992.

Mike & The Mechanics, who have sold over 10 million records worldwide, announce their nationwide Word of Mouth Tour 2017. Genesis founding member, Mike Rutherford( guitar) joins forces with a new generation of Mike & The Mechanics, which includes one of the UK’ s most prolific R & B singers, Andrew Roachford – lead and backing vocals – whose previous hits include Cuddly Tour and Family Man, and Canadian-born singer, Tim Howar – lead and backing vocals – who formed and toured with his band, Vantramp, with the likes of Rod Stewart and Paulo Nutini. Tim shares vocal duties with Roachford and they both add a new soulful dimension to the band’ s already established sound.
