Elizabethan chocolate box rural style pub, just a short drive from
the centre of Maidstone and four miles from the world famous
Leeds Castle, the Cock Inn wins the hearts of all who visit.
Exposed beams and inglenook fireplaces underline the charm of
the pub which is thought to date from 1568, according to the date
on the chimney breast found in the attic. At different times, three
clairvoyants have identified a ghost named George!
Country cooking with a twist is a speciality of the pub's 42-seater
restaurant using locally sourced ingredients, and there's always a
good choice of ales, lagers and an extensive wine list to be enjoyed.
