The Corner House is an independent restaurant with rooms located
in the historic village of Minster in Kent. Matt Sworder, has worked at
a number of London restaurants including Gordon Ramsay's La
Noisette, but is now thrilled to be back in Kent running his own
show.
It only opened a year ago, but The Corner House has been listed in
both the 2015 Michelin Guide and the 2015 Waitrose Good Food
Guide, putting the historic little village firmly on the East Kent
gastronomic map.

Young chef and patron, Matt Sworder, is already making a name for
his seasonally inspired British dishes. He is passionate about
modern British cuisine and his aim is to bring London-inspired
dishes to this corner of Kent, using the best ingredients.

“I find Kent a really inspiring place to cook. There is so much
delicious, fresh produce on our doorstep and I’m creating dishes
which make the most of what is available seasonally and locally.”
The restaurant is set within three former 18th-century farm workers’
cottages, on Station Road.
The Michelin Guide says:
“Pass the stone bar inset with a cart wheel, and the small lounge and
terrace, to the characterful dining room with its low beamed ceiling
and quarry tiled floor. Classic recipes use good quality produce; the
dishes for two are a hit. Bedrooms have smart feature walls and
modern facilities.”
But you’ll be pleased to know that the focus on offering local diners
real value for money won’t change; you can still get a two-course set
lunch for £12.
