NEWS HENDY TUNBRIDGE WELLS KIA GIFTS NEW KIT TO TONBRIDGE INVICTA UNDER 8’S Hendy Tunbridge Wells Kia has announced that it has gifted branded kit to local football team, Tonbridge Invicta Under 8’s as part of Kia Motors (UK) Ltd’s nationwide ‘Gift of Kit’ initiative which aims to support local grassroots football teams across the UK. The new kit aims to help local players stand out on the pitch and since the initiative started, Kia has seen fantastic results for the local teams with 121 dealerships providing over 3,470 sets of kit to 129 football clubs and 127 cricket clubs across the nation. CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF CHATHAM HISTORIC DOCKYARD TRUST ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT AN AUDIENCE WITH ANTON DU BEKE TWIRLS INTO BROMLEY’S CHURCHILL THEATRE After 19 years of exceptional service to Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust, the chief executive, Bill Ferris OBE DL, will retire from his role later this year. Over the last two decades, Bill has led capital development projects totalling £47m and has secured more than £40m investment from external sources to support major projects. Through a careful balance of commercial tenancy, tourism and residential the multi-award- winning dockyard is now home to a thriving community of 115 houses; over 110 businesses and organisations, including the University of Kent; 190,000 annual visitors and it supports over 500 jobs; these combined activities generate in excess of £29m to the local economy each year. Commenting on his retirement Bill says: “After nearly 2 decades commanding the bridge of the world’s most complete dockyard from the Age of Sail, I leave the organisation with an extraordinary sense of accomplishment and a confidence that the Trust is in a strong position to flourish under new leadership. I take incredible memories and unforgettable experiences with me as I hand over the reins to the next generation and allow them the opportunity to lead the Trust into its next chapter.” Sir Trevor Soar KCB OBE DL, chairman, Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust said: “After nearly twenty years at the helm, Bill has steered the Trust through a period of great change. Anton will share tales and anecdotes providing some fascinating insights from across his prolific career as one of the UKs leading dancers, authors and TV stars.
