Marigot Bay Resort
Somewhat uniquely for a bay-located Caribbean
resort, Marigot Bay is not directly situated on the
beach, instead it is located on the Marigot Bay
Marina. Accommodating some of the biggest
superyachts ever made, the bright sails reflect the
never-ending sunshine, as the awe-inspiring boats
bob on the crystal clear, deep turquoise waters - it
is a spectacular sight, especially to a boat-loving two-
year old and his super-yacht loving dad!
The resort itself is known island-wide for its unrivalled
and genuine Calypso hospitality, natural friendliness
and total professionalism. From the moment you
arrive all staff know your name, learn your beverage
preferences and cannot do enough for you to make
your stay even more amazing.
The all-suite resort has an American lodge type feel,
with expansive 915 sq ft Junior suites up to palatial
3-bedroom penthouses, accessible by winding dark
wooden staircases, or flat, wide paved walkways.
Most are set overlooking the central split-level pool
area, offering not only luxurious and spacious
bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas, but also
stunning views from wrap-around private balconies,
over the grounds to the Marina and ridge beyond.
If that were not enough you also get a personal
assistant to cater for every need, babysitter required?
Booked! Massage needed? Check! Private dining
reservation? No problem!
Our two-bedroom suite was simply amazing. We
walked in to a full size living room, with sofa bed,
widescreen TV and dining table with freshly baked
cookies which were instantly devoured* (*mainly
by me, sorry kids!). Beyond is the fully equipped
kitchen, with American fridge filled with water and
soft drinks, coffee machine and sink; perfect for
preparing toddler-necessary milk and snacks. Hidden
behind is a utility room with washer-dryer, clothes
rack and ironing board.
To the right, the first of the the king-sized bedrooms,
with widescreen TV, ample storage and huge
bathroom with double sinks and walk in shower;
and to the left, a mirror image layout, this time with
the added bonus of that balcony overlooking the
pool. The allure of which proved too much, and as
fast as the kids had run around their new abode,
they were out the door again heading down for some
much needed cooling off time.
The split level pool area offers two infinity pools, as
well as a little splash pool with floating loungers, the
perfect spot to lull away an afternoon for the grown
ups, or to splash about safely for the kids. The larger
pool boasts a well-stocked swim-up bar (they make
a mean frozen daiquiri!), as well as an umbrella-
filled dining area for the poolside restaurant, which
offers a tasty range of cajun-influenced paninis, sushi
and snacks.
In fact, good food and fine-dining is what Marigot
Bay is all about.
The all-inclusive resort operates on a free-to-roam
basis, meaning you can choose where to eat and
drink throughout your stay, and all restaurants have
a kids menu. There is the laid back, seaside-style of
the Hurricane Hole, with its casual menu of burgers,
