sandwiches, fish and salads. It also hosts special
evenings such as Caribbean Night cookouts and has
TVs for sport-watching enthusiasts. The Grill at 14°
16° was not only our preferred breakfast spot, with
its elevated outside terrace overlooking the Marina,
it became our go-to evening restaurant for its land
and sea menu of grilled fish, lamb, chicken and
steaks, cooked over an open fire in the main dining
room. For those seeking a truly unique dining
experience the Treehouse private dining is simply
stunning. The wooden, stilted space not only offers
total seclusion from the resort but also a personally
tailored three-course menu. Guests meet with the
resort’s head chef in the morning, the menu is then
devised, ingredients are sourced, dishes created, and,
by sunset, you are treated to a lavish, fine-dining
experience with a private butler, to the background
of tree frogs and mellow caribbean beats. As the
children worked their way through char-grilled

steak, fries and chocolate brownies, we were treated
to cajun-spiced pumpkin soup, pan-seared scallops
with mango and chocolate sauce, char-grilled
ribeye with yam and a delicious melt in the mouth
poached red snapper with potatoes and green
beans, followed by the signature chocolate sharing
platter; chocolate creme brulee, dark chocolate
mousse, rum truffles, chocolate delice and chocolate
ice-cream - heaven!
Staying here is all about creating and enjoying
Marigot Moments. Tear yourself away from the
food, the pool and your suite and you can enjoy (or
endure?!) the guided hike of the Ridge. Towering
opposite the resort, the short ferry ride across the
bay leads to a full-on hour (or more depending on
the weather), ‘hill’ (and I use that term loosely!)
climb. The views are spectacular and it's worth the
walk, climb and slide, under the watchful and
enthusiastic eye of the resorts fitness guru to get
there! Looking for something less vigorous? Then
catch the free ferry, which transports you in a matter
of minutes, to the sandy beach across the bay. Or
perhaps delight in a signature spa treatment - the
full body massage is a must and they even offer an
amazing two-hour long princess in tiara pamper
sessions for the little ones! Or how about one of the
signature guided tastings in the Rum Cave - all safe
in the knowledge the kids are being cared for by the
delightful and super patient Angie and her team.
Mine cried when they had to say goodbye to her,
that says it all.
And it has to be said we were sad when we had to
leave too…
