Homemade Gingerbread Soap
This recipe makes 12 bars.
What you need What you do
• 14oz tallow
• 8 oz coconut oil
• 5oz almond oil
• 4oz jojoba oil
• 3oz castor oil
• 4oz lye
• 1/4 oz nutmeg essential oil
• 1/2 oz cinnamon essential oil
• 1/2 oz ginger essential oil
• 1/2 pint water 1. Mix the tallo w, coconut oil,
almond oil, jojoba oil and castor
oil together in a lar ge pot over
heat (don’t exceed 110oF/40oC).
2. Add the lye to the water and
stir until it dissolves. It is best to
do this outside and wear gloves
and safety goggles if appropriate.
3. Once the oil mixtur e and
lye mixtur e ar e a t the same
temperature, mix together.
4. Add the essential oils and
stir. If y ou want to cr eate a
‘gingerbread’ colour, simply stir
in half a teaspoon of turmeric
as well.
5. Pour the mixture into moulds
of y our c hoice. Lea ve f or 24
hours then r emove fr om the
mould. After this it should be left
to cur e f or ideally 6 w eeks so
make sure you leave plenty of
time to cr eate y our soap y
masterpiece.
Cinnamon Hot Chocolate Mix

What you need
• 3 small jars
• 150g raw, organic cacao
• 120g icing sugar
• 2 tsp cinnamon
• 1 vanilla pod
• 1/2 tsp ground cloves
• 1 pinch salt
• labels (optional)
What you do
1. Cut the v anilla pod open and scrape out
the seeds.
2. Put the cacao with the cinnamon, g round
cloves and v anilla seeds thr ough a sie ve into
a bowl.
3. Put the icing sugar through the same sieve to
add to the cacao mix.
4. Now mix all the ing redients until the y’re
completely combined. Fill into the jars…
5. Finally, tie a rib bon or twine around them,
stick a label or a tag on to create a cute gift idea.
6. This mix w orks best with hot milk (ra ther
than water) for the richest taste experience!
7. You now have a thoughtful little gift that tastes
great and is warming. It doesn’t get much better,
does it?
