TRIUMPHANT WOMEN // UNTIL 28 OCT
In 2018, Smallhythe Place is exploring women ' s history and suffrage through the anniversary of women gaining the vote. Their new exhibition, Triumphant Women, will be on display at Smallhythe Place celebrating the women of Smallhythe in the Suffrage movement. Edy Craig: Women, Suffrage and the Theatre will be on show in the Barn Theatre and green room, while The Shakespearean Lectures of Ellen Terry will be exhibited in the main house. The event is included in the main ticket price.

MARGATE FILM FESTIVAL // 3-7 OCT
The inaugural Margate Film Festival launches 3rd – 7th October 2018, focusing on the themes of‘ outsiders’ and shifting attitudes to people and places. With over 15 events over five days, the festival celebrates Margate’ s creative culture, as well as its rich past and diverse cultural identity. The festival sees new works from local artists, live performances, debut features from British and International filmmakers, shorts, archive footage, live film scores, talks, family workshops and more. Margate Film Festival is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led, grassroots community organisation.
