Chegworth Valley has many fine products, but it is the freshly pressed
juices that caught the eyes of the judges at the Taste of Kent awards.
This is a family-run fruit farm established in 1983, and everything is
handmade in small batches onsite. The juices are usually made within
hours of the fruit being picked, ensuring total crisp freshness and Kentish
flavours. Varieties include raspberry, strawberry, wild elderflower, apple,
pear, beetroot, and rhubarb.

Marshmallow Heaven
Kingsnorth
Marshmallow is a lovely thing, isn’t it? Gooey and chewy and a real treat
when made properly. And at Marshmallow Heaven in Kingsnorth, it is
definitely made the right way. The marshmallow is created with no
additives or artificial colours, and by using all natural (Kentish where
possible) ingredients. Once you’ve tried this special kind of marshmallow,
nothing else will do. As well as perfect marshmallow, you can also order
homemade nut brittle and honeycomb.

Freya & Farley
New Hythe
The owners of Freya and Farley created their Kent business out of
necessity. They wanted a candle that smelled of what it was supposed
to smell of, and also one that’s scent would linger on after the candle
was extinguished. They found some that fitted each requirement – but
not both. So they took matters into their own hands and created their
very own candles. These beautifully scented candles are made from
eco-friendly, dermatologically tested soy wax which burns much cleaner
than paraffin and is from a renewable source.

Fudge Kitchen
Lyminge
Fentons of Kent
Kemsing
At Fentons of Kent, the
speciality is gorgeously
luxurious bath products. Bath
melts (which are similar to
bath bombs), body creams,
hand crafted natural soaps…
There is even a range of reed
diffusers and room sprays.
Each item is carefully
handmade using 100 percent
natural ingredients. The
fragrances all come from
essential oils – there is nothing
fake or chemically enhanced
here. And that means they are
safe to use on your skin and
in your home. Plus, since they contain no animal fats, they are also
suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Fudge may be the most delicious mistake in the world (it came about
when a college student was attempting to make toffee, but didn’t heat
the concoction enough – hence the term ‘fudge’ used for an error), but
Fudge Kitchen don’t get it wrong; their fudge recipes include superb
flavours such as sea salted caramel, maple walnut, blueberry muffin,
and Eton mess. And you’ve heard of drinking chocolate, but what about
drinking fudge? This Kentish company offer it by the sticky, sweet glass,
and it is a revelation in taste
