Matt Richardson and Alex Smith
visit Folkestone Quarterhouse on
Saturday 15th July. Matt is a multi-
award-winning standup
comedian and one of the most
exciting names on the circuit. As
well as hosting Virgin Radio’s
drive-time show, his TV credits
include Never Mind the
Buzzcocks, Xtra Factor and
Celebrity Juice.
He is joined by Alex Smith, whose
trademark mix of laser-sharp
standup observations and cleverly
crafted comedy songs have
helped him rapidly emerge as one
of the must-see comedy acts of
62
2017. In just two years he has
appeared on BBC Radio 2’s New
Comedy Awards and secured two
guest slots on BBC3’s prestigious
talent showcase, Live At The
Electric hosted by Russell Kane,
whom he supported during his
Smallness tour.
On Saturday 22nd July, the
Quarterhouse welcomes back
Folkestone favourites Matt Forde
and Annie McGrath. Matt is one
of the UK’s most in demand
satirists with appearances on
Have I Got News For You, Rory
Bremner’s Coalition Report and 8
Out of 10 Cats. As a writer, Matt
has worked regularly on shows including Russell Howard’s Good News,
Stand up for the Week, has contributed to features on ITV News and
also hosts his own weekly show on talkSPORT.
Annie McGrath is a comedy writer and performer who made her debut
character comedy and standup solo performance at Edinburgh in 2015.
She has been shortlisted for the ‘Funny Women’ comedy writing award
and was a two time finalist for the ‘Tickled Pig’ standup competition.
