Wild Weekend( 22 & 23 July), a chance to spend time escaping modern technology and enjoying Betteshanger’ s wilderness, including birds of prey, photography workshops, bat walks, bushcraft and campfire cookery.
Family Basecamp( 29 & 30 July), get the whole family involved in energising outdoor activities, including archery, cycling, geocaching and the new military-style obstacle course. Work together as a team or pit your wits against each other.
Wind Festival( 6 August), focussing on one of Betteshanger’ s defining features, the wind, and exploring wind powered energy with kite flying displays and workshops with the East Kent Kite Club, kite surfing demonstrations and plenty of open space to hone your flying skills.
Betteshanger Basecamp, the Park’ s actionpacked school holiday club is the perfect place for kids suffering with a case of school holiday boredom. Running weekdays throughout the summer holiday, they’ ll get to kick up mud on the mountain bike trails; take aim on the archery range; power through the obstacle course and dig for fossils in the coal spoil.
A season of Open Air Cinema runs from June through to September. Films on the bill include Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Pack a comfy chair, a blanket and a hamper. Sit back, popcorn in hand; relax and enjoy a cinema experience under the stars.
