“ We are fortunate that the girls have had the opportunity to hear such inspirational speakers this year,” said Headmistress, Angela Drew.“ Natural communicators like Historians Michael Wood and Lucy Worsley, Classicist Dr Rosie Wyles, Neuroscientist Sir Colin Blakemore and Humanitarian Terry Waite.”
And Bromley High debaters and public speakers have been inspired this term. The Year 11 team, speaking on the topic‘ Will tomorrow be better than today?’ won through to the second round of the ESU Public Speaking Competition qualifying for the London Regional Finals in March. Priyanka Patel( Year 11) and Raveena Rao( Upper Sixth) also came first of the five schools competing in the second round of the ESU Mace and will go through to the regionals next month. Finally, our Year 9 and Year 10 debaters competed at UCL in the ICYD Competition reaching
the Final against Tiffin Girls and two teams from Brighton College. Placed second of 38 teams, Chrisa Prachalias( Year 10) and Nilou Davis( Year 9) will progress to the National Finals at the Oxford Union.
