FABULOUS WITH TWO KIDS UNDER 10! •
I never thought I’d say this but I miss
having both of the kids at home with
me; it feels eerily quiet with them at
school! Admittedly, Ella’s only doing half
days at the minute until she settles in,
but it’s still noticeable. That said I’ve
definitely not got as much free time as
I thought I would; I seem to fill every
morning either catching up on bits around
the house, gymming (yep, I’m as shocked
as you are that I’m still going!) or
squeezing in coffees with the girls.

As fun as it is having all of this extra time on my hands,
I do think I’ll get a bit bored, especially when Ella’s
doing full days like Jake. So, I’ve decided to go back to
work! I was terrified at first but I’m actually really excited
now. I’ve not worked since before Jake was born so it
feels like the start of a new journey for me. I worked
in recruitment before I had the kids but the new role
is part of an HR team. It gives me much more flexibility
and they’ve said I can move from part time to full time
at my own pace, which is fab!

As I’m sure you can guess I’m probably most excited
at the prospect of a new wardrobe. Despite my valiant
gym efforts, even I can’t kid myself that I’ll be able to
wriggle into my pre-baby work clothes now, so I’ve
used it as an excuse to hit the shops. After all, I want
to feel fabulous on my first day...!
I managed to avoid falling into my usual trap of working
backwards and choosing shoes first, by starting with
trousers and skirts. All summer I was obsessed with
