The uneven walls, existing ceiling beams and beam uprights, together with the different ceiling heights, meant that the kitchen couldn’ t simply be designed as a standard run of cabinetry. Every element had to be carefully considered and tailored to the room. The bespoke approach allowed us to work with the building rather than against it, ensuring the finished kitchen felt integrated into the cottage rather than imposed upon it.

What finishing touches brought the kitchen together? The finishing materials and details were key to elevating the overall design. Quartz worktops provide a durable and sophisticated surface, while the premium Miele appliances added the contemporary edge that the client was looking for. The classic Quooker tap, antique brass finishes and open shelving introduce warmth and character, complementing the traditional elements of the kitchen. The addition of LVT flooring and carefully positioned lighting also made a significant difference, helping to enhance both the practicality and atmosphere of the space.
What are you most pleased with about the finished result? We feel the final result achieved exactly what the clients wanted; it retains the charm and traditional character of the original cottage while incorporating modern functionality, premium appliances and contemporary detailing.

Most importantly, the kitchen feels completely at home within the property. The combination of bespoke cabinetry, natural character, considered finishes and modern conveniences has created a space that is both practical for everyday family life and a real focal point within this historic cottage, and hopefully, a space that will be cherished for years to come.
