insideSTORY
Three Redrow South East site managers from Kent have won a national award for the quality of the homes they are building.
Elliot Munns from the Hamlet Park development in Rainham, Ben Skinley from the Oakleigh Fields development in Cliffe Woods, and Prageeth Hchandra from the Paddock Green development in East Hoathly have each been awarded a prestigious Pride in Job Quality Award.
Now in its 45th year, the awards are widely considered as the Oscars of the homebuilding industry, showcasing the highest standard of building homes. This achievement underlines just how important building high-quality sustainable homes is for the premium housebuilder. In total, 115 site managers from Barratt Redrow won awards- more than any other homebuilder.
Elliot Munns, site manager at Hamlet Park, said:“ We come to the site every day striving to deliver high quality craftsmanship, teamwork and customer service. I’ m incredibly proud to have the customer and build experience at Hamlet Park recognised as one of the best in the country with this award.”
Judged on technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail, the awards celebrate the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards.
The awards follow Barratt Redrow being awarded 5-stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation( HBF) new homes survey- with more than 90 % of customers recommending their homes.

Since its establishment in 1984, the trust has spent four decades significantly impacting The Historic Dockyard Chatham. Today, the 80-acre estate is home to historic ships, museum galleries, a working ropery, residential properties, creative industries and more. As a vibrant estate, it welcomes thousands of visitors each year and plays an important role in the cultural and economic life of Medway and Kent.
SEVENOAKS VINE AWARDED COVETED GREEN FLAG AWARD FOR NINTH YEAR RUNNING
Sevenoaks Town Council is celebrating after receiving a Green Flag Award for the Vine Gardens for the ninth year running- an international quality mark for parks and green spaces.
Sevenoaks Town Council recently revitalised the pond and pergola area of the Vine Gardens with a new ground surface made of a mix of stone and recycled plastic waste. The transformation not only looks beautiful, but is also more accessible, has environmental benefits and will reduce long-term maintenance costs.
“ Quality parks and green space like the Vine Gardens make the county a healthier place to live and work in, and a stronger place in which to invest,” said Paul Todd MBE, Green Flag Award scheme manager.“ It is a vital green space for communities in Sevenoaks to enjoy nature and, during the ongoing cost of living crisis, it is a free and safe space for families to socialise.”
The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
The new strategy is underpinned by three strategic objectives and a programme of business plans ensuring the long-term future of the dockyard. Key developments include the restoration of Commissioner’ s House, the oldest intact naval building in the county, and the development of Docking Station, a new creative industries hub delivered in partnership with the University of Kent and Medway Council.
Admiral Sir Trevor Soar KCB OBE DL, chairman of the Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust, said:“ This strategy marks a significant milestone for the trust. It reflects not just who we are today, but the organisation we aspire to be. Our vision is anchored in preservation, learning and resilience, and it will guide us as we continue to adapt, innovate and grow while continuing to honour our extraordinary heritage.”
