CELEBRATES A MILESTONE

This summer, one of the UK’ s most cherished independent art spaces marks a major milestone. The Fairfax Gallery is celebrating 30 years of curating and showcasing original contemporary art and it’ s doing so in the same place where the journey began: The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells.
Since opening its doors in 1995, the Fairfax Gallery has stood apart from the crowd. While the art world has shifted dramatically, from the rise of internet galleries to the emergence of chain spaces showing identical work nationwide, Fairfax has stayed true to its roots, showcasing only original paintings and sculpture by talented contemporary artists.
From Tunbridge Wells to Chelsea, and onward to international art fairs in Hong Kong, Singapore and New York, the Fairfax name has become synonymous with quality and authenticity. In 2001, the gallery added a second permanent home in Burnham Market, Norfolk, complete with a serene sculpture garden.
Award-winning, the Fairfax Gallery remains a vibrant testament to the power of independence in the arts. What does the next decade hold in store? That’ s unknown, but it’ s bound to be as groundbreaking as it is exciting.
The anniversary exhibition will feature over 100 new paintings and sculptures from the gallery’ s most popular and sought-after established, award-winning and emerging artists.
