Easter, particularly as the months of spring are known for being the most glorious in the farming calendar.
LEEDS CASTLE
Looking to embrace the great outdoors during the long weekend? Head to Kent’ s array of National Trust( nationaltrust. org. uk) properties for nature explorations and splendid Easter egg hunts with a difference. With Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Ightham Mote, Chartwell, Knole, Emmetts Garden, Scotney Castle and Smallhythe Place all set to join the festivities, there is so much heritage excellence to discover. Each location will be taking inspiration from their rich history and garden offerings to provide exciting new themes to their trails and will run on various dates from 5 April to ensure the fun continues.
Pack up a picnic, pop on your wellies and spend the holiday at Broadditch Farm( broadditch. co. uk) as they present their spectacular activities for Easter 2025. Running everyday from 29 March- 27 April during farm shop hours, explore the wondrous woodlands of Broadditch on a wholesome trail, searching for the lost bunnies among the vibrant spring flowers. No pre-booking necessary and trail sheets can be purchased from the farm shop for £ 4.50 each.
DOBBIES
Taking care of Easter activities that families of all ages can look forward to, Dobbies Garden Centre’ s( dobbies. com) Gillingham and Ashford stores will be hosting an array of egg-citing special events that are sure to delight. Taking place on various dates from 17- 21 April, choose to join the brand-new Easter Bunny Afternoon Tea, or returning Easter Bunny Breakfast which both include plenty of freshly prepared snacks and engaging interactive activities.
Not forgetting our four-legged friends, the adorable Hopping Hounds special will offer pups the chance to sniff out an Easter egg trail around the store, collecting a themed toy and taking a photo with the Easter Bunny himself at the end. Priced at £ 12.50 per dog, customers will be also able to add a donation to the Dogs Trust while booking the event.
BROADSTAIRS FOOD FESTIVAL
The perfect way to indulge in some superbly Kentish feasting this Easter, the spring edition of the beloved freeto-enter Broadstairs Food Festival( broadstairsfoodfestival. org. uk) is set to return for the Easter weekend. Running from 10am- 6pm on Good Friday and Saturday, and 10am- 5pm on Easter Sunday with almost 100 of Kent’ s finest producers due to exhibit, the festival will offer an array of delicious sweet and savoury treats, streetfood bites and tipples from award-winning local vineyards and distilleries. Set in the picturesque Victoria Gardens, there will also be a marquee holding family-friendly workshops including screen-printing table mats, seaweed pressing, tasty planting and Easter crown making.
