ART ON PARADE :
AN EXCLUSIVE CHILDREN ’ S ART CLUB
The children at Chislehurstbased Art on Parade learn and experiment with a variety of mediums . These include working with watercolours , oil pastels , sketching with pencil , charcoal and craft topics . The children also have fun lessons of perspective and fun life drawings . Lessons are differentiated to suit the individual . Guidance is given to help applicants put portfolios together for the selective schools , colleges and universities . Our new venture is Art Parties for all celebrations and we offer a gift voucher service too .
Nicky Russo is the founder of Art on Parade . She is a Higher Level Teacher Assistant and has worked in schools for the past 30 years in both the state and independent sectors . Nicky has also worked at an image and fashion consultant and has run three small businesses of homemade cupcakes , sugar almond flavours and flower arranging .
Previously , Nicky worked as a commercial section manager at Marks & Spencer for 21 years and during her time there was also a visual merchandiser . She has a thriving Art Club at the school in which she currently works . Nicky has a first aid qualification and an Enhanced DBS and safeguarding certificate . She has attended extensive art courses by Creative Education in central London about teaching the subject and how to get the best out of the more able student .
Nicky has taught art to K1 and KS2 children at Babington House School and has run the after-school fashion clubs for both senior and prep school pupils . Nicky has links with Chislehurst Royal Parade Gallery , Dulwich Picture Gallery , Central St Martins University and the London College of Fashion , where she did her training . She is also a member of Bromley Arts Trust .
